Snowball Fight

Cardstock: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Whisper White.
Stamps: Snow Much Fun, Snowflake Soiree.
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White Craft Ink.
Accessories: Dimensionals.
Today is the best day for a Snowball Fight!

This card was "Snow Much Fun" to make. It does take some time to put together, but when it was complete, I was very happy with it.

I started by stamping the snowman with StazOn on Whisper White paper and then cut him out leaving with arms behind. I then stamped the snowman again on the pool party paper. I glued the White Snowman onto the Pool party and then his arms appeared!

The Whisper White cardstock was then ripped to create snow and the snowball and bird was stamped twice and cut out and popped up with dimensionals.

You can't really see the background on this card, but I stamped snowflakes with the smallest stamp from the Snowflake Soiree set.

I hope everyone has Snow Much Fun this Christmas!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Cardstock: Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White.
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Petite Pairs.
Ink: Early Espresso, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler.
I wanted to keep one of my cards this year very simple. I did not use any "Extras" for this card. I struggled at first trying to keep it very plain and simple, but in the end it turned out great!

The new ink pads really help make the colors pop. The background trees were stamped off and then stamped on the cardstock to provide a lighter backdrop. That helped to make the green tree stand out.

The rush is now on to get things prepared for Christmas. I spent some of my weekend wrapping gifts and baking more cookies. I think I will be taking the cookies with me wherever I go over the holidays because I made quite a few.

I created this card to send out to my family and friends this Christmas. I didn't own any of the core-dinations cardstock before and now I love it. I loved how the woodgrain popped after sanding it.

My brother has been in British Columbia training with the Navy for the past year and he graduated last week! I am so proud of him and very happy that he is finally close to home.

I made the card above for my brother's Birthday. It is very simple, mostly because I find it hard to make masculine cards, but the patterned paper is his style. The paper is called Howlstooth & Scaringbone and you can find it in the Holiday Catalogue. All products are available until January 2nd, so be sure to get the products you love before then.

It has been a very busy week around here. I had my last card class of the Season on Tuesday and it was so much fun. I had a few new faces and it was great to show them the art of Stamping!

The card above was made in our class. It was a bit complicated and lots of techniques, but I really wanted to use this set. We embossed the Midnight Muse cardstock with Lacy Brocade embossing folder and then heat embossed the "First Christmas" set with gold embossing powder.

If anyone wants to join my classes in the New Year, I have the new dates on my Upcoming Events page!

Friday night, I spent the evening making some cards and crafts with some great girls. It was great to catch up and make cards while enjoying each others company. I finally have some cards ready to send out, but I'm no where near close to the amount I need.

Today, I plan on decorating the house, and hopefully get it done in one day. We also want to go and see Santa sometime throughout the day. The month of December just flies by and I can't believe there is only 22 days left until Christmas!

There are 13 days left in the INK-redible promotion if you are thinking of buying yourself an early Christmas gift. Check out the link here!

Beautiful Birthday Girl

Stamps: Make A Cake, Made for You.
Cardstock: Blushing Bride (retired), Very Vanilla,
DSP: Beau Chateau (retired).
Ink: Blushing Bride (retired).
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper, Labels Collection Framelits, Scallop Squares Duo Bigz, Scallop Oval Punch,

My Sister in law celebrated her birthday last weekend and I wanted to make her a pretty pink card! I had lots of Blushing Bride cardstock left from the 2010-2012 in Colors and decided that was the perfect pink to use! It was great to make a card that wasn't Christmas themed (although I really love Christmas cards).

The scalloped square is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then sponged with blushing bride ink.

I hope she had a wonderful Birthday in Toronto and celebrated the rest of the week in NYC! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Let it Snow

Stamps: Snowflake Soiree
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso.
Cardstock: Very Vanilla.
Accessories: Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Pearls.
Outside of Ottawa, there is a nice town in Mississippi Mills known as Almonte. When my husband and I first moved here, we liked to go to the town often because it was so pretty and we loved the little shops.

I have known about a store called Tin Barn Market for a few months now that is located in Almonte. It is a beautiful little store made up of Vintage, Salvaged and Handmade objects. I could've spent hours in the store! I bought an old picture frame that is going to look perfect in my craft corner. I can't wait to go back and look again.

While at the store, I noticed some handmade cards. All of them were beautiful and it gave me inspiration. Immediately, I came home and re-created a card I saw there. I changed up a few elements, but it turned out about the same. I didn't catch the name of who made the card so I can't give credit where credit is due, but whoever you are, your cards are beautiful.

The Northern Flurry embossing folder used on the card above is part of the Online Extravaganza.  Today is the last day to take advantage of the deals. Remember that you can order through my online store or place an order through me. Today is also a good day to take anvantage of the INK-redible promotion because you can get 10 Free ink pads with your discounted products!

Happy Birthday Dad

Cardstock: Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla.
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Deer, Curly Cute.
Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Pool Party.
Accessories: Brayer, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals.

Masculin Cards are always the hardest to make. Today is my Dad's birthday and I wanted to make him something true to his style.

I saw an idea like this from Heidi Weaver @ http://www.heidistampinalong.blogspot.ca  and wanted to try out the technique. I haven't used my brayer in awhile and wanted to dig it out! It took me two tries to get it right, but I'm happy with how it turned out! As you can tell, I didn't want this card to look like a Christmas card, so I didn't ink the antlers on the deer.

Tomorrow is the last day to register for my Tags till Christmas class. We won't be using the Tags till Christmas set, but I promise you'll love each tag we make!

Christmas time is here

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Whiper White
DSP: Brights Designer Printed Paper
Stamps: Merry & Type
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Two Way Glue Pen, Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionals

I LOVE CHRISTMAS! It is my favorite time of the year! Last Tuesday, I held my first Christmas card class. It was one of two card classes.

In each card class, we are making 6 cards; 2 each of 3 designs. The card above is one of the cards we made in the first class. I had a lot of fun with the 7 girls that attended. I had Christmas music playing, festive treats, a door prize & a draw for a hostess set.

I also made little gift card holders for each of the girls and had them waiting at their seat when they arrived. The gift card holders had a package of tea and a candycane inside. I used the Festival of Prints designer paper pack from the holiday mini and each persons holder was different.

My next class is on November 20th and we are making 6 tags. Each tag is unique and they are sooo cute! If you would like to join any of my classes, please check out my upcoming events page for dates or you can book your own event with me. Remember, the INK-redible deal is on and you can receive 10 new ink pads from the brights, subtles or regals collection just by joining the Stampin' Up! family or hosting a $575 workshop.

I would also like to remind you that if you would like to purchase anything from Stampin' Up! and you don't live in the Ottawa area, you can check out my online store. Stampin' Up! ships anywhere in Canada and when you shop online, you will receive your order at your door!  Know of anyone crafty and can't think of what to get them from Christmas? You may find something at Stampin' Up!

Thank You

Here is a card I created for the girls who attended and placed orders at the class on October 23rd. Does it look familliar? That's because it is the same stamp, colors and flower pieces from the "Submit a Project" Fancy Friends Kit. If you would like to purchase the kit, you can check out my online store HERE.

I also want to Thank all the girls that attended last nights class. Last night, I had my first Christmas Card class and it was amazing. There was Festive music & Christmas treats as well as a door prize draw and a hostess set draw. I had a blast last night & I think all the girls that attended did too! It put me in the mood for Christmas and although I don't want to wish the months away, I can't wait to see what our little guy will be like on his First Christmas!

I also gave a preview of all the tags we are making at the Christmas tags class! If anyone wants to sign up for the next two classes, check out the dates on my Upcoming Events page. I will updating the page soon with dates for our classes in the New Year!

Happy Halloween

I love that I have a little one this year to dress up and take out for Halloween. I know he's a baby and won't understand, but I want him to have the memory when he grows up and it's so much fun for my husband and I.

I made this card using the Ghoulish Googlies designer kit. I love the little mummy from the Googly Ghouls Stamp set.

Here is what I did to the inside of my card...

This is my little monster! He was dressed up last week with a few of his friends for a photo op. I made this card twice and sent it to his Grandparents  with these two pictures inside. If you take one of the photos out (I used photo corners), it says Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone has a wonderful night out and stays safe!

This stamp set has been one of my favorites since it came out and I don't use it enough. Whenever I look at it, I think of Carrie in the last two episodes in Sex and the City and want to make a Romantic card.

This time, I actually picked it up and put it to good use. I CASE'd this card from Jessica at scraphappens.blogspot.com. It is so pretty!

Summer's Gone

I CASE'd this card for my class in September from Jen at jen-icreate.blogspot.com. She has created some great cards and I really fell in love with the layout.

The stamp set is called Summer Silhouette and I just can't believe how fast our summer flew by. This weekend was chilly, but sunny in the Ottawa area. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend spent outdoors by a bonfire and nice walks through the woods. I enjoyed every minute spent with my husband and little guy. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend with their families as well.

Dora's First Birthday

We went to another first Birthday Party this weekend and the theme was "Dora the Explorer." The little girl loves Dora and I wanted a card to go along with the theme.

The colour theme was also purple and pink. I found Dora on the internet and printed her out on Whisper White cardstock. The Bubble above Dora's head was cut out free hand and then stamped with Petite Pairs. I was very happy with how the card turned out!

Balloon Fiesta

This card reminds me of fall. Back home, the Balloon Fiesta is the weekend after Labour Day. This year I was home to see them, but unfortunately, I never got to see them fly.

I wanted to make a card to represent my love for the hot air balloons and this was what I came up with! The colours are so bright and fun and I already have a person in mind to give this to.

We made this card at my stamp class this week and all the girls loved it! I had a different layout when making this card the first time and wasn't in love with it. I walked away from it so many times and I'm so glad I did because I am very happy with it!

The clouds in the background are stamped using the Create-A-Cupcake stamp set with Whisper White Craft Ink!

Fall is in the air!

Fall is probably my favourite time of year. I love summer, but I love the fall air, fall clothes and fall food.

I had a busy weekend creating cards and making other fall crafts for around the house! I had so much fun. I made an awesome wreath for Halloween from an idea I found off Pinterest.

I promised a sneak peek for one of the cards we are creating on Wednesday and here it is! I have been in love with the Lovely as a Tree set for awhile and finally convinced myself I desperately needed it. I have already made two cards with it, but this one was fall themed and I couldn't wait to use it in our class.

I love the texture on this card and the colour combo. I used sponge daubers to apply colour to the tree.

As you can probably tell, I love embossing and I am so glad that Stampin' Up came out with the Woodgrain Textured embossing folder.

I am very excited for our next class and I hope the girls are too!

Fabulous Birthday Card

Well, we're back from vacation and back to reality! My husband went back to work last night for the first time since vacation and I'm back at making cards whenever I get a free minute.

Today, I am dedicating myself to being creative. Last night, I was busy cutting paper and preparing for next weeks class and today I will be doing the same when my little guy goes down for his nap. I am having trouble with one of my designs right now, so I keep walking away from it, hoping I will get some inspiration.

Here is the final card we created in last month's class! I made this card for my Mom back in June for her birthday and it turned out just the way I hoped. I got the idea from the IB&C on page 83 (ps that's the page you can find the Fabulous Florets stamp set).

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry & Lucky Limeade
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Teeny Tiny Wishes, En Francais
Accessories: Linen Thread, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Labels Collection Framelits, Pearl Basic Jewels.

I will be posting a SNEAK PEEK of one of next weeks class cards on Monday. Be sure to check back and if you'd like to join us, please RSVP by tomorrow!

Back to Spool, Baby!

Hello from New Brunswick! My family and I are here on vacation visiting family and taking in the sights! I love this time of year in NB and tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary. Yesterday, we went apple picking and out to lunch in a little town and today, Aubrey and I went to his Great Nanny & Papa's to visit. While we were there, we went to see the Chickens & Turkeys they have and here is a cute picture of him.

Now, back to the main reason I came online today! I wanted to let everyone know about the great promotion Stampin' Up is offering for the month of September.

While the kids are heading back to school, Stampin' Up! is going back to 'spool'! For the month of September, get a FREE package of 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon-an $12.25 value-for every $50 you spend!

That means FREE Stampin' Up In-Color Ribbon for every $50 you spend (before S&H) from now until September 30th. Spend $100, and you will receive 2 spools. Spend $200, receive 4 spools! I love this promotion!

Another reason for coming online was to show another card we created for the August Stamp Class. I always find myself making baby cards. The ideas for them just come to me so easily and they are always cute! This is the card we made:

Stamps: Baby Bundle, Word Play
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Patio Party DSP
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Jet Black StazOn.
Accessories: 1-3/8 Square Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Finishing Touches Edgelits.

Mr. & Mrs.

Another GREAT card night last night!

Last night, I had 7 girls attend my card class (2 girls brought a friend). We had a blast! Most everyone that attended last night, live around my block and we decided to make it a girls night. Most of them also have babies and it becomes a night without kids! We all enjoy a glass of wine, but last night I made Sangria and so did one of the girls that attended!

We made 4 cards again and I'm very proud of them! The card I am featuring today took me awhile to think of. I bought the Mr. & Mrs. stamp when the catalogue first went live in May and I hadn't used it until thinking of a wedding card to make for my stamp class. I usually use "Happy I do Day" for a lot of my wedding cards because I think it is a cute sentiment, but I was really trying hard to stay away from it this time.

I am going to give a list of all that was used for this card. I will start doing that for all the cards I create and put up on the blog!

Cardstock: Temping Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Stamps: Mr. &Mrs. pg 39
Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

I will be featuring a card from this class on the blog until our next class on Setember 19th. I will also be showing another Sneak Peek for that class.

If you would like to attend, check out the upcoming events page and RSVP before Sept 14th!

Sneak Peek

I've been busy this week creating cards for the next class. My little boy is moving around so fast now that I have to cram card making in his nap times. I'm soon going to have to close my craft room door just to keep him from getting into trouble!

I love all the bird stamps in the new catalogue. I used the Take Care stamp set for this card. I was going to CASE it from the catalogue (check out page 90). They built a paper nest using strips of card stock, but I liked how the card turned out without the paper nest.

This is a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be creating at the next class. The sentiment used on the card is from Petite Pairs and I used the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. Baja Breeze is one of my favorite colors and I used that as the main color throughout the card!
