Pretty in Pink Cupcakes

When trying to come up with card ideas, I always think of events I have ahead. My sister (who's only 8), will be turning 9 in October and we will be attending a 1st Birthday Party this coming weekend.

I happened to make another Birthday card for the Birthday this weekend (which I will show you next week). I actually made two cards yesterday.... my little guy went down for good naps!

Balloon Fiesta

This card reminds me of fall. Back home, the Balloon Fiesta is the weekend after Labour Day. This year I was home to see them, but unfortunately, I never got to see them fly.

I wanted to make a card to represent my love for the hot air balloons and this was what I came up with! The colours are so bright and fun and I already have a person in mind to give this to.

We made this card at my stamp class this week and all the girls loved it! I had a different layout when making this card the first time and wasn't in love with it. I walked away from it so many times and I'm so glad I did because I am very happy with it!

The clouds in the background are stamped using the Create-A-Cupcake stamp set with Whisper White Craft Ink!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise.
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise.
Stamps: Up, Up & Away, Create-A-Cupcake
Accessories: Argyle Embossing Folder, Lots of Tags Sizzlits, 1/4 Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

Here is a picture of the Balloons actually taking flight 3 years ago in NB.

Fall is in the air!

Fall is probably my favourite time of year. I love summer, but I love the fall air, fall clothes and fall food.

I had a busy weekend creating cards and making other fall crafts for around the house! I had so much fun. I made an awesome wreath for Halloween from an idea I found off Pinterest.

I promised a sneak peek for one of the cards we are creating on Wednesday and here it is! I have been in love with the Lovely as a Tree set for awhile and finally convinced myself I desperately needed it. I have already made two cards with it, but this one was fall themed and I couldn't wait to use it in our class.

I love the texture on this card and the colour combo. I used sponge daubers to apply colour to the tree.

As you can probably tell, I love embossing and I am so glad that Stampin' Up came out with the Woodgrain Textured embossing folder.

I am very excited for our next class and I hope the girls are too!

Ink: Early Espresso, More Mustard.

Fabulous Birthday Card

Well, we're back from vacation and back to reality! My husband went back to work last night for the first time since vacation and I'm back at making cards whenever I get a free minute.

Today, I am dedicating myself to being creative. Last night, I was busy cutting paper and preparing for next weeks class and today I will be doing the same when my little guy goes down for his nap. I am having trouble with one of my designs right now, so I keep walking away from it, hoping I will get some inspiration.

Here is the final card we created in last month's class! I made this card for my Mom back in June for her birthday and it turned out just the way I hoped. I got the idea from the IB&C on page 83 (ps that's the page you can find the Fabulous Florets stamp set).

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry & Lucky Limeade
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Teeny Tiny Wishes, En Francais
Accessories: Linen Thread, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Labels Collection Framelits, Pearl Basic Jewels.

I will be posting a SNEAK PEEK of one of next weeks class cards on Monday. Be sure to check back and if you'd like to join us, please RSVP by tomorrow!

Back to Spool, Baby!

Hello from New Brunswick! My family and I are here on vacation visiting family and taking in the sights! I love this time of year in NB and tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary. Yesterday, we went apple picking and out to lunch in a little town and today, Aubrey and I went to his Great Nanny & Papa's to visit. While we were there, we went to see the Chickens & Turkeys they have and here is a cute picture of him.

Now, back to the main reason I came online today! I wanted to let everyone know about the great promotion Stampin' Up is offering for the month of September.

While the kids are heading back to school, Stampin' Up! is going back to 'spool'! For the month of September, get a FREE package of 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon-an $12.25 value-for every $50 you spend!

That means FREE Stampin' Up In-Color Ribbon for every $50 you spend (before S&H) from now until September 30th. Spend $100, and you will receive 2 spools. Spend $200, receive 4 spools! I love this promotion!

Another reason for coming online was to show another card we created for the August Stamp Class. I always find myself making baby cards. The ideas for them just come to me so easily and they are always cute! This is the card we made:

Stamps: Baby Bundle, Word Play
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Patio Party DSP
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals, Jet Black StazOn.
