Sending Sympathy
I don't make sympathy cards that often, but the Summer Silhouette stamp set was the first stamp set I thought of that was appropriate for this type of card.
I used a special technique to "smudge" the background. Using the brayer, I inked it up with crumb cake and rolled it over the flat side of the embossing folder. Then, I laid my Very Vanilla cardstock over top of the ink and rolled it through the Big Shot. The fancy background is what appears. It makes the Lacy background POP!
The butterfly was inked up with Pacific Point and stamped onto Baja Breeze cardstock and then punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.
They may not be my favourite cards to make, but they are good cards to have around.

The Biggest Sens Fan!
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Very Vanilla. |
Had his face painted at the Ottawa Senators game. |
My youngest brother turned 11 while here and I had the greatest card made for him. He is the BIGEEST Ottawa Sens fan and I knew he would really like this card. No stamps were used in the making of this card, only cardstock.
I didn't have any of the Alphabet letters that would fit for the Vintage O on the jersey, so while making the card, I had an idea to use the O from my sons foam mat and it was perfect.
I think my brother has had a blast while here. He hasn't had an item on this week that wasn't something Ottawa Senators.

Whale you be mine?
Besides dealing with my sick child this weekend, I was putting together cards for next weeks class. I think the girls attending will really like them. I wanted to make them bright and friendly and I also wanted to use some accessories from Sale-a-bration and that's exactly what I did. I will start to show them off next week.

My family will be arriving on Wednesday and we are really looking forward to it. My mom & sister (who is only 9) will be attending my card class on Thursday. This will be my mom's first Card class!!

In my Heart-a-flutter
I used the White craft ink to smudge the black cardstock to make it look like chalk was erased. Then I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
The More Amore DSP is so much fun to use as well. It has great designs on both sides of the paper and it was hard to choose which side to pick from.
I've had someone in mind to send this card to and I can't wait till they receive it!

My Baby's First Birthday
On the weekend we celebrated his First birthday with friends and family. We are so blessed to have the friends and family that we have. Aubrey had a fun day and was exhausted by the end of it.
The card above was the invite to his birthday. I used all Stampin' Up products to create them and I CASE'd the card from the 2012-2013 catalogue. I made the card into a pull out invite to make it different. The ticket punch made this card so easy to create.
You can find the tutorial to make a Pocket card on the Split Coast Stampers website. It has a lot of good tutorials to create different types of cards.
I can't wait to get home from work today and wish my little boy a happy first birthday and I look forward to another year of firsts with him.

Embellish Amour
My last class was all about Valentine's. Pretty cards are always my favourite and there is no better reason to make a pretty, girly card then Valentine's day. None of my cards directly stated "Happy Valentine's Day" so they could all be used for any Lovey Dovey occassion.
For this card, I used some of the Artisan Embellishment accents. I've made a card like this in the past using different accents, but I adore the Artisan Embellishment kit. I love all the lace trims and buttons that come in the kit.
I also sprayed the Vanilla piece and the ribbon with Shimmer mist using the Pearl Shimmer Paint & alcohol. The Crumb Cake piece is sponged with Early Espresso ink.
My week is flying by and soon it's going to be my boy's First Birthday. I can't wait to show everyone what I have planned.

Birthday Blitz
The theme of her party was polka dots and the card I made has many polka dots. I love the colours in the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP. It coordinates with so many other colours from Stampin' Up!
I love watching my child grow and learn and it was so cute to see him around kids his own age, exploring and learning and taking everything in. He plays shy at first, but give him a few minutes and he's getting into everything. His new word this week is "Dog". It doesn't necessarily come out sounding like dog, but more like "Gog".
We have so many birthday's coming up over the next month. Next week is my Son's birthday. I can't believe my baby is going to be One. He's changing so much. It's sad to see him grow up, but also wonderful to see him grow and change before my eyes.
Check back soon for more pictures of birthday cards I'll be creating in the month ahead!
