Embellish Amour

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla.
Ink: Early Espresso, Rose Red.
Stamps: En Francais, Artistic Etchings.
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Pearl Shimmer Paint, Mini Mister,
Sponge Daubers, Artisan Embellishment Kit.

My last class was all about Valentine's. Pretty cards are always my favourite and there is no better reason to make a pretty, girly card then Valentine's day.

None of my cards directly stated "Happy Valentine's Day" so they could all be used for any Lovey Dovey occassion.

For this card, I used some of the Artisan Embellishment accents. I've made a card like this in the past using different accents, but I adore the Artisan Embellishment kit. I love all the lace trims and buttons that come in the kit.

I also sprayed the Vanilla piece and the ribbon with Shimmer mist using the Pearl Shimmer Paint & alcohol. The Crumb Cake piece is sponged with Early Espresso ink.

My week is flying by and soon it's going to be my boy's First Birthday. I can't wait to show everyone what I have planned.

Birthday Blitz

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Whisper White.
DSP: Sunshine & Sprinkles.
Stamps: All for You, Create-a-Cupcake.
Ink: Marina Mist, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink.
Accessories: Create-A-Cupcake Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Long Oval Punch,Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired), Dazzling Details.
We attended a first birthday on the weekend and it was a lot of fun. My son has many girlfriends and this was just one of their birthday's!

The theme of her party was polka dots and the card I made has many polka dots.  I love the colours in the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP. It coordinates with so many other colours from Stampin' Up!

I love watching my child grow and learn and it was so cute to see him around kids his own age, exploring and learning and taking everything in. He plays shy at first, but give him a few minutes and he's getting into everything. His new word this week is "Dog". It doesn't necessarily come out sounding like dog, but more like "Gog".

We have so many birthday's coming up over the next month. Next week is my Son's birthday. I can't believe my baby is going to be One. He's changing so much. It's sad to see him grow up, but also wonderful to see him grow and change before my eyes.

Check back soon for more pictures of birthday cards I'll be creating in the month ahead!

My weekend started yesterday and I am very happy about it. I have been slack with my blog posts, but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. I only work three days a week and sometimes Friday's for now and it fits our family life very well. My son loves daycare and even though it's hard to drop him off in the morning, I love our time together in the car in the morning and after his day at daycare because it seems like he wants to tell me everything he can (even though he's not using words).

So, today is our day together at home and we are back to our normal morning routine before I went back to work. I love spending time with him and watching him learn. Everyday it is something new.

Tonight, I am hosting my first class since Christmas and it's my first Sale-A-Bration season as well. All the cards we are creating have a Valentine theme. I have a hard time picking which one is my favorite.

The Sneak Peek I decided to show today is a card I CASE'd from Elizabeth Price at www.seeinginkspots.blogspot.com. It's a beautiful card and it uses many items from the Spring Catalogue. I can't wait to show it off tonight.

Love for my Baby

Cardstock: Pink Piroutte, Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple/
DSP: More Amore.
Stamps: Hearts a Flutter, Lovely Letters Alphabet.
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals.
Accessories: Bakers Twine, Mini Brads, Hearts a Flutter Framelits,
Silver Glimmer Paper, Owl Punch.
I've been wishing the week would slow down. My baby is off to his first trial day of daycare this morning and I've been hoping for months it would never come. It's hard to believe that my year with him has gone by so fast and next week I'll be off to work while he is taken care of by someone else.

I spent a few hours in my stamping room this weekend while he was asleep preparing classes for my first class of the new year. I want to make sure I have all cards ready because the class I am holding is also during my first week back at work. I'm sure it will go smoothly, but I like to be organized.

The card above was created using the new Hearts-a-flutter stamp set and cordinating framelit. I am having a lot of fun creating with this set. I also used a mini spritzer and created shimmer mist with the pearl shimmer paint. It was fun to sit a create for a bit and forget about what lies ahead of us for the next week.

Don't forget to RSVP for my class on January 31st, if you haven't already.

What "Whale" it be?

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Whisper White.
DSP: Sunshine & Sprinkles.
Ink: Pacific Point, Marina Mist.
Stamps: Oh, Whale, A Word For You.
Accessories: Happy Whale Clearlit Die, Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Punch,
Pierce Mat & Paper-Piercing tool, Dazzling Details, Googly Eyes.
Boy or Girl?? Baby cards are so much fun to make. I probably make this type of card the most. Whether it was for when I had my son (almost a year ago) or making cards for friends that are having babies (which is the stage of life I am in right now), I seem to make them at least once a month.

I made the card above with the new "Oh, Whale" stamp set from the new Spring Catalogue. When I bought the stamp set, I knew I was going to need the Happy Whale Clearlit Die to go with it. I used the Googly Eyes from the Holiday Catalogue for the Whale's eye. I also used the little fish from the Clearlit die and dazzled them up with Dazzling Details.

Next week, I hope to have more posts up throughout the week. It will be my last week at home before I go back to work part-time.

Also a reminder that next Friday is the last day to RSVP for my stamp class on Thrusday, January 31st. We will be creating fun Valentine Cards with new products from the Spring Catalogue. I am very excited because I have been very busy creating some great cards for this class.

Over the holidays, it seems love is Always in the air. 4 years ago, my husband and I got engaged on January 3rd. It will always be a memory I will cherish.

My husband and I had a perfect engagement setting. While we were living in Manitoba, we went back to Calgary, Alberta, to visit family. The day after landing, he told me we were going to have a date in Banff. I had been waiting all year for him to pop the question, but I had no idea he was going to do it then. I was actually upset that it hadn't happened before the end of 2008.

When in Banff, he took me to the Gondola at the bottom of Sulphur mountain in -20 degree weather. I was bundled, but again had no idea what he had planned and thought he just wanted to go to the top since we hadn't gone up the entire time we lived there. When we arrived at the top, he then stated "let's climb to the peak." Well, then I thought he was crazy, but I continued to go along with him because it was a beautiful day and the scenery was gorgeous.

Well if you can see where this story is going, we got to the peak and he proposed. No one was around, but after our moment of Celebration, a Photographer popped out of the bushes! I looked at my fiance and couldn't believe he set this all up, but my fiance had no idea where the photographer came from either. She explained to us that she was up there to take pictures of the scenery and caught our moment on camera. We exchanged emails and a few weeks later, I received pictures of our engagement.

Anyways, I made what should've been a short story long, but I wanted to wish another couple all the happiness in the World. My brother and his girlfriend got engaged over the holidays and I am very happy for them both.

Busy Bee

Cardstock: Summer Starfruit, Naturals White.
DSP: Patio Party
Stamps: Elements of Style
Ink: Jet Black StazOn, Summer Starfruit.
Accessories: Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Blender Pen, Crystal Effects,
Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals.
I just love this Honeycomb folder and all the things I have been creating with it. I can't wait to show everyone all the new projects and cards I have been busy creating.

My life has become busy again since the holidays have ended. I have been keeping my days busy entertaining my son with different activities and getting ready to go back to work. I am back at work in 3 weeks and I am very anxious about it. I am glad I will only be going back part-time, but it will be a whole new routine for my family to get use to.

Making cards over the last few days has taken my mind off of things though, and this picture does not do this card justice. I was sceptical about it while in the process of making it, but so happy with how it turned out. I have seen many different ways of how people have made "Honeycomb" on the Internet and wanted to try it out. The Honeycomb is embossed using the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder. The honey effect is created using the Blender Pen and Summer Starfruit Ink. When I finished putting the "Honey" where I wanted it, I covered the areas with Crystal Effects to make it glossy.

The Element of Style stamped imaged is raised up after matted onto Patio Party DSP and then finished off with a piece of Black ribbon.

This card is now displayed on my new shelf in my craft room (the new shelf my hubby got me for Christmas).
